ANESTHESIA
---------------

We can ease your anxiety about surgery.
Our office has the ability to administer multiple forms of anesthesia. Every patient is different and we can therefore tailor your experience to your anxiety level. Most patients have their surgery completed under IV sedation combined with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and numbing medicine. We will use your past experiences as a guide and will discuss with you what we think might work best for your case. Additionally, while you are asleep we will administer local anesthesia so that you will wake up virtually pain free and remember little to nothing about your surgery.

What are Dr. Street's qualifications?
As an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Street is certified to administer IV sedation and general anesthesia. This privelege is only granted to Anesthesiologists and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons by their training. Specifically, five months of Dr. Street's training was dedicated to general anesthesia at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. He worked with both adults at UK Hospital and children at UK Children's Hospital. What this means is that Dr. Street is trained to provide the safest, most comfortable level of anesthesia currently available.

All of the East Kentucky Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Staff is trained in Basic Life Support. Dr. Street and his nursing staff have additional training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
